The name De L’Orée, was given by Michel Chapoutier’s grandfather who selected the vineyard’s location at the eastern edge of Hermitage Hill. Orée translates to edge. Hand harvested at advanced maturity. About 50% is vinified in new oak, the rest in vats. Then lees aged, with reglaur stirring for the first 6 months with further 6 months in bottle before release. Intense toffee and ripe fruity lemons with floral overtones of acacia and hawthorn. A complex wine with hints tropical fruits and buttered toasted bread. The wine is made with organic and biodinamic practices
